Truck Slams Car Into Liquor Store In Portage

A car slammed into a business while it was open Thursday night in Portage. FOX 17 reports the vehicle was parked outside Hoffman's Party Store at around 9:30 when a pickup truck slammed into it, pushing it into the store located on South Westnedge near Colonial Avenue.

When authorities arrived they say the car was halfway inside of the building. Witnesses say the red pickup was northbound when it began drifting off the road, and into the parking lot. The truck struck the front end of the white Audi, forcing it backwards into the building. The driver of the pickup truck then drove away from the scene.

Portage Public Safety says two female occupants who were in the Audi at the time had non-life threatening injuries, but were taken to an area hospital as a precaution.
