Two Hurt, One Airlifted To Hospital After Sunday Crash In Calhoun County
A crash in rural Calhoun County Sunday afternoon sent two people to the hospital.
The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office says that deputies were called to U Drive S near 8 Mile Rd. in Burlington Township around 5:45 pm Sunday. Authorities say that they believe a Ford F-250 pickup truck lost control and crashed into a tree.
The driver, a 16-year-old girl, was taken to be treated at Bronson Battle Creek, while the 16-year-old male passenger had to be airlifted for treatment in Kalamazoo. It’s believed the passenger was partially ejected from the truck; their current conditions are not known.
At this time, investigators believe that speed and intoxicants were not involved, but the investigation is ongoing and the crash will be reconstructed.
