Two Month Resurfacing Project On Helmer Road In Battle Creek Begins Monday
A resurfacing project on Helmer Road in Battle Creek is set to begin on Monday and will continue for about the next two months. The Michigan Department of Transportation says they will be working on a 1.9 mile stretch of the road from Columbia Avenue to west of the M-37 intersection at Dickman Road. The construction project also includes sidewalk ramp reconstruction.
According to M-DOT, the new road surface will provide motorists with a smoother, more durable and safer ride. The new sidewalk ramps will improve accessibility for pedestrians. During the work, there will be single-lane closures on M-96/I-94 Business Loop. Sidewalk ramps will also be closed during construction. You may want to seek an alternate route during this project, especially during peak driving times.
The project is expected to wrap up by the middle of November. Click on THIS LINK for more details about the project and to help know what areas you should avoid.
