Investigators say a shooting early Sunday morning that injured two teens, one critically, is considered isolated although police are still looking for a suspect. At around 3:30am, Battle Creek Police responded to a call of shots fired at Merritt Street near Cherry Street.  While searching the area, a 15-year-old flagged down officers and directed them to a 17-year-old male who was found unresponsive with an apparent gunshot wound.  A second individual, a 15-year-old male was also found with gunshot wounds.

Both shooting victims were transported to area hospitals for treatment.  The 17-year-old was initially believed to be deceased, but was later discovered to be alive but in critical condition. The 15-year-old was described as having non-life threatening injuries.

Detectives searched a house on Merritt Street near the shooting.  No one was found inside. Due to the age of those involved, no names are being released at this time. Officials are still investigating the motive and trying to track down anyone else who might be involved or have information on the shooting.
