Back in September, Kelloggsville Public Schools posted the following picture on their Facebook page regarding upgrades to their football field.

That was September. Now, in October, officials with the school district announced this week that they were canceling the rest of the varsity football season. According to a post on their Facebook page this week and a press release posted on the school's website, they say that "out of concern for players' safety, we are announcing that we will cancel the balance of the 2019 Varsity football season. Injuries and other factors have attributed to a reduced team roster to 12 players."

According to a report from Mlive, the Kelloggsville varsity football team had lost their first six games by a combined score of 271-26. They will now be forfeiting their last three remaining games against Godwin, Hopkins, and Belding. The JV team will be finishing their season as scheduled. You can click here to find out more.
