Several media outlets are reporting that several people among a crowd of protesters in Flint were struck by a vehicle Tuesday morning. WJRT-TV and WEYI-TV report that it happened around 7:00am near a McDonald's restaurant on Dort Highway and Lipencott Road. The Flint Police Department is reporting that at least six people were injured, but the severity of injuries is believed to be non life-threatening according to WEYI.

A truck apparently struck the crowd of people while they were crossing the street. A Consumer's Energy vehicle in the area was also reportedly hit. Police say the driver is not in custody and is cooperating with their investigation. There is no indication at this time that the driver allegedly responsible for the crash intentionally hit the victims. In fact, the police chief in Flint at this time says he doesn't believe the crash was intentional saying the driver is shaken up about it. The protesters were taking part in a rally demanding the fast food industry raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour and also for the right to form unions.
