This morning I was listening to the local CBS affiliate (WWMT Channel 3) news program.

When I heard the anchor speak about President Trump’s tweet last Saturday concerning the four Democrat Congresswomen who are constantly speaking badly of our country and some making anti-Semitic statements. The anchor stated that the President told the four Congresswomen to go back to the countries they came from.  I found his interpretation, yes it is odd to have to say interpretation when speaking of a news organization, of what President Trump said because he and the news organization could have simply read right from his tweet but they did not.

President Trump’s tweet last Saturday July 14th stated the following:

So interesting to see “Progressive” Democrat Congresswomen, who originally came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe, the worst, most corrupt and inept anywhere in the world (if they even have a functioning government at all), now loudly and viciously telling the people of the United States, the greatest and most powerful Nation on earth, how our government is to be run. Why don’t they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came. Then come back and show us how it is done. These places need your help badly, you can’t leave fast enough. I’m sure that Nancy Pelosi would be very happy to quickly work out free travel arrangements!

Nowhere in that direct quote from the tweet did President Trump tell the “Progressive Democrat Congresswomen” to go back to their countries, he did state that they should “go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came”.  As newscaster’s and news organizations, should they not report direct facts and not insinuate anything or make things up?

One other point, was it fair that the WWMT did not include all of the President ‘s comments from the same tweet when he stated “Then come back and show us how it is done“.

We should all expect our “news” organizations to actually report the news and by that I mean all the news and leave the punditry and their opinions to punditry shows like mine.

Do you believe that the local CBS “news” affiliate (WWMT) was fair in their reporting or should they now be considered punditry “news” organization that only reports part of the story?
