The city of Battle Creek says a water main break at the intersection of Capital Avenue SW and Langley Road will require a water shutoff and road closure starting late Thursday night and into Friday. The road closure and detour will begin at around 9:00 pm. Water shutoffs will start at 11:00 pm.

Crews will be repairing a water main break and installing valves to improve the water infrastructure in this area. They will repave the road with concrete, as hot asphalt companies have shut down for the winter.

Capital Avenue SW will be closed in an area near Hamilton Lane to Beckwith Drive Thursday night and throughout the day on Friday. Emergency vehicles will also not be able to get through the intersection of Capital and Langley. Motorists should use the marked detour on East Minges Road, Riverside Drive, and Beckley Road.
