White Christmas Dreams Dashed

Battle Creek's hopes for a white Christmas seemed promising, even as recently as Christmas Eve during the afternoon. But, alas, it was not to be. Forecasters were concerned the track of the storm, along with how cold temperatures would actually get, such that predictions were changing. For a period of time on Wednesday, it seemed accumulating snow might be imminent. But, forecasters quickly changed their minds, and rain was the result.

Looking ahead, the National Weather Service forecast doesn't promise much beyond a "slight" chance of accumulating snow through New Year's Day.
