What in the heck is going on in our schools?

The Washington Post is reporting about a Texas eight grader who was suspended for 2 days.

What was she suspended for?

Carrying a classmate to the nurse’s office after she had an asthma attack and fell to the floor of the classroom.  When the fellow student noticed the trouble she was in and the fact that the teacher was not adequately responding to the possible life or death situation he defied her request to not leave the room with her and carried her to the nurses office.

Oh now I see why they suspended him, he did not let the fellow student stay in possible harm's way.

What are they teaching these children?

What did the teacher do when they saw this child in danger, they emailed the nurse and was awaiting the nurse’s response.

Really!

According to the Washington Post article the teachers’ report of the incident was as follows:

“During 5th period another student complained that she couldn’t breathe and was having an asthma attack. As I waited for a response from the nurse, the student fell out of her chair to the floor. Anthony proceeded to go over and pick her up, saying ‘f—k that, we ain’t got time to wait for no email from the nurse.’ He walks out of class and carries the other student to the nurse.”

What would you have wanted your child to do in this situation?

If this news report is fully correct should the teacher possibly be suspended?
