Albion College Locked Down Following Armed Robbery Thursday Night

Albion College was locked down last night after armed robbers were tracked to the campus area.

Police say they were contacted at around 9 by the victim who said they had been robbed by two men, one armed with a pistol, the other with a shotgun.  The victim tried to chase the robbers but backed off when they fired their weapons on North Ionia Street.

Two suspects were tracked by dogs and arrested near the Albion College Burns Street Apartments.

Police say two squad cars collided during the response, causing significant damage but no injuries.
