State Police Troopers have identified a driver killed in a weekend incident on I-94 as Carl Bolden of Battle Creek.

Troopers from the Marshall detachment responded to westbound I-94 near Partello Road Saturday evening where they found Bolden dead at the scene.

Investigators say Bolden had hit a deer and then stopped in the left lane of the road for an unknown reason and got out of his vehicle.

The position of the parked car caused confusion for another driver coming behind, who then veered to the left, hitting Bolden in the median.

Emergency crews had to shut down the westbound lanes of the highway for nearly three hours while they were on the scene.
