The Battle Creek Police are investigating a stabbing that occurred early Friday morning.

Police say that a 40-year-old Battle Creek man was outside of his home in the first block of Corwin St, around 6:20am Friday. He told police that he believes the suspect was attempting to break into his house, when the suspect stabbed the victim twice. 

The victim sustained wounds to the stomach and arms, and is currently in the hospital in stable condition.  Authorities searched the area with a K-9 unit, but nothing was turned up.

The suspect is described as a white male, standing around five foot nine inches, with a low-cut beard and jeans. If you have any information, please contact the BCPD or Silent Observer.
