Deputies Investigate Kidnapping Attempt

Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating after a kidnapping attempt was reported Tuesday morning in Springfield. Deputies responded to a home on North 24^th Street, near Avenue A at around 8 AM. They were told that an unknown female driver had asked a 7 year old girl to get in her car while the child was waiting for her school bus. The girl screamed and her mother came outside as the vehicle sped away. Deputies are now looking for an African American or Hispanic female in her 30s or 40s, driving a white midsize minivan or crossover SUV.
