Drunk Driver Leads Authorities On Chase Through Battle Creek
An attempted traffic stop in Springfield led to an arrest, early Monday morning.
Around 12:15am Monday, Calhoun County Sheriff’s Deputies attempted a traffic stop in the area of Dickman Rd. and Carl St. after a vehicle ran a stop sign. A chase ensued for around 10 minutes, before the suspect vehicle lost a tire in the area of Webber St. and LaVista Ave. in Battle Creek.
The driver of the vehicle, a 27-year-old Battle Creek woman, ran on foot but was quickly caught. The woman was found to have been intoxicated, along with driving on a suspended license and with a bad plate. She was also found to be in possession of marijuana.
The woman was arrested on multiple charges, and is lodged at the Calhoun County Jail pending arraignment.
