Hartford Mother Facing Charges In The Death of Her Son

The mother of a murdered baby is now looking at charges related to his death.

31-year-old Autumn Atchley of Hartford is charged with being an accessory after the fact to the death of 8-month-old Carter Donovan on February 19.  She could spend up to 5 years in prison if convicted.

The child was determined to have died from blunt force head trauma, allegedly while in the care of 30-year-old Brandon Beshires of Benton Harbor.

Beshires was charged with first degree murder, felony murder and first degree child abuse on February 22.  Police say that the child died while in the care of Beshires, while Atchley was at a doctor’s appointment.

Beshires next appears in court Wednesday.
