Investigation of a break-in in Plainwell late Monday night led to the discovery of a large amount of stolen property.

The Michigan State Police went to the 35-year-old suspect’s residence in Cooper Township early Tuesday and arrested him after a short foot chase.  Upon searching the residence, authorities found it full of stolen property.

The suspect admitted to being a drug addict and stealing property in the Plainwell and Otsego areas.

Investigators worked all day Tuesday to clear the house of stolen goods; filling several U-Haul’s and Trailers with the items.  Now, they’ll be working to connect the property with the victims, and figuring out how many break-ins the suspect is responsible for.

The suspect is expected to be arraigned Wednesday.
