Old man winter is going easy on us for the balance of the week according to the latest National Weather Service forecast for Battle Creek.

Temperatures overnight Tuesday were not as cold as forecast, though Battle Creek still has plenty of chances for cold, near-zero or below temperatures yet this week. But, after a blustery Tuesday, the sun is expected to come out and winds calm down on Wednesday.

Forecasters are still predicting snow for Sunday, though the National Weather Service has not yet speculated on how much. Some other forecasting authorities have suggested that 3 to 6 inches of snowfall is possible Sunday.
