A woman from Kansas City, Missouri has made her way to Michigan where she hopes to set a new kayaking, world record. According to the Times Herald in Michigan, Traci Lynn Martin set off from Port Huron’s Lighthouse Beach on Thursday, in the first leg of her trip to take on the record for most miles paddled by a woman in one year. The entire journey will take Martin 8,600 miles along the Great Lakes and into the Atlantic seaboard. She hopes to finish, with the record, in December.
