Southwest Michigan's agency created to help older residents maintain independence and stay in their homes as long as possible is phasing in a name change.

The Region 3-B Area Agency on Aging will now be known as Carewell Services Southwest.

Executive Director Karla Fales tells WBCK the name better reflects the organization's mission and services, which have expanded to eight southwest Michigan counties from its original two.

Fales also discussed priorities and challenges for their constituents in 2017, including concerns about potential cuts to or replacement of the Affordable Care Act. Click the player below to hear more.
