Battle Creek’s New Mystery Brewer Is….

Battle Creek has been waiting to hear about a new "Mystery Brewery" coming to the historic Record Box.   The brewery owners will be guests on the 95.3 WBCK Morning Show with Tim Collins, along with Battle Creek Unlimited CEO Joe Sobieralski.

The Record Box is located at 15 Carlyle St facing the Battle Creek River; the historic building was built in 1902, and originally produced packaging for breakfast foods. It’s been vacant since the early 2000’s. The Record Box, which is being redeveloped by Restore (269), will feature a craft brewery and restaurant, office space, and a multi-purpose event space.  The initial schedule when the project was announced last year was for a Fall 2019 opening.

Since the project was first announced in May of 2018 the name of the brewery going in was kept secret.   All we knew was that it was someone with experience in the brewing industry.  That's led to all kinds of speculation.

Tuesday, after the 8am news, the big surprise will be unveiled, and we'll meet the "Mystery Brewers" on the 95.3 WBCK Morning Show.

Recently, the State of Michigan MEDC kicked in a $415,000 grant for the project.
