Calhoun County Bridge Park Closed
If you've been to Calhoun County's Historic Bridge Park, you know the Kalamazoo River is pretty close on a normal day. So, it's no surprise that recent rains have caused overflowing and closed the park.
The Calhoun County Sheriff's Office, Emergency Management Division says the park remains closed and barricaded.
It is expected that flood waters will crest soon and hopefully begin to recede. The forecasted rain should not increase or change water levels in Calhoun County.
Please continue to use caution while traveling and avoid hazardous areas that have been affected by increased water levels.
The flooding also caused the Sheriff's Department to cancel Saturday's scheduled "Skywarn" weather spotter training. Officials say they need to focus their attention on flooding and safety issues.
