The Calhoun County “Shop with a Cop” event will take place at 9am  this Saturday (December 15th)  at the Emmett Township Department of Public Safety.
The 75 children have already been chosen and notified. The “Shop with a Cop” event begins at the Emmett Township Department of Public Safety building. The children have a quick breakfast snack, then have a “meet and greet” with the police officers taking part. The buses get loaded at about 9:45am and it’s off to Walmart with a police escort. Once at the store, the officers along with other volunteers assist the children with selecting gifts. At about 11:45 am when the shopping is complete, the children are escorted back to Emmett Township DPS and the fun continues. The children and the officers get to enjoy lunch with each other while many more volunteers wrap and package all the gifts that were purchased. Once that is completed, the children are able to go home with a huge smile and bags of gifts for themselves and their family.

The travel route will be from the Emmett station down E Columbia Ave to Capital Ave to Beckley Rd to Walmart. Please drive careful and be observant if you are in the area at that time.

The program thanks all the sponsors, and the many volunteers along with all those behind the scenes who make the “Shop with a Cop” program in Calhoun County such a huge success. Your support makes it possible to make such an enormous difference in these children’s lives!
