A Detroit-area lawyer is out of a job, following reports that he forged another attorney’s signature on documents filed at the Michigan appeals court. According to the Associated Press, seventy four year old, Robert Slameka’s law license was revoked at a hearing he didn’t attend. In 2011, Slameka accepted $7500 to handle an appeal for Damitrice Vann, who was convicted of carjacking and other crimes in Oakland County. A UoM law school became suspicious, and after investigation, Slameka was accused of filing court documents under the name of another attorney, Matthew Evans.
