(AP) A recently released study by the University of Michigan finds that the Straits of Mackinac would be the worst possible place for a Great Lakes oil spill. Hundreds of people participated in a test drill this week that tested just that. According to Ed Golder of the Michigan DNR, the drill simulation went well. The test simulated Enbridge’s pipeline burst in Calhoun County, in 2010. Charlie Usher of Enbridge says if there ever was such a spill, over time the area would recover.
