Bill Bresnan has written a love letter to his wife, Kris, every day for the last 40 years, dating back to when they first met in 1974. We’ll save you the math. That’s about 10,000 letters.
The missives have become quite the artifact in their life together. In fact, they take up 25 boxes. The Toms River, New Jersey couple is now sifting through each note to determine which ones to pass on to their four children and which ones are — how shall we say this? — not meant for other people to see (wink, wink).
Obviously, these two know something about making a relationship work. What’s the secret? Bill says, “Do things together. Have fun. Love each other.” Oh, and they also recommend not using the cell phone so much.
