A self-proclaimed "daddy's girl," 27, was furious after her dad kicked her out of his house on her birthday due to a disagreement with her stepmom.

"My parents divorced when I was 13. Dad has been with the same girlfriend this whole time, her name is Susan. Susan and I never really bonded but I was always respectful towards her for my dad’s sake," she wrote on Reddit.

The woman's older brother apparently got along very well with their stepmom, but sadly he died in 2022 from an overdose.

"Things went downhill on my brother's one-year celebration of life that I planned with my Dad. Susan had a horrible time and started a fight with me cause she wanted to plan it ... then she blamed me for his death and stated she’s hated me since she’s met me," the woman continued.

Her dad, who overheard their argument, tried to tell her that her stepmom was just upset and didn't mean the things she said.

"Time has passed since that happened, I put a lot of space between me and her to the point where we do not talk. This year on my birthday, I went to visit my dad. My dad asked me to say hi to Susan but I did not feel comfortable doing so. Susan made a scene 'cause I wouldn’t say hi to her but I feel like she owes me an apology before we go any further," she recalled.

However, the woman's dad became enraged that she refused to acknowledge her stepmom and began to yell at her.

"My dad said, 'If you can’t be nice to her then get the f--k out.' I feel like I’m on the back burner and my dad and I haven’t spoken since my birthday," she concluded.

Users in the comments blasted the woman's dad and stepmom.

"Given the circumstances, you deserve an apology. In the midst of grief, people act irrationally; you do and say stupid things . But it is also important to take ownership, be held accountable after the fact and apologize for your actions," one person wrote.

"Susan is the worst, your dad sucks too," another user weighed in.

"Just tell your dad until she apologizes, you have nothing nice to say to her. Everyone has a sob story, doesn't give you the right to treat others like garbage," someone else commented.
