Meth Bust in Van Buren County Nabs Two Fugitives

A tip from a citizen led to the arrest of 3 people, including two wanted fugitives, on multiple drug charges in Van Buren County last night.

Authorities got the tip around 11pm Sunday, saying that the suspects, 49 year old Thomas Spangler and 28 year old Angelina Guajardo, were in a house on N. Maple Street in Hartford.  Officers arrested the two on outstanding warrants, with Spangler resisting arrest.

A 52-year-old man was also arrested.

On the scene, authorities recovered a large amount of meth, along with marijuana, meth making ingredients, and drug paraphernalia.

Once they arrived at the jail, the 52-year-old was found to have more meth hidden on him, so he’s facing an additional charge of smuggling contraband into jail.  All three suspects are being held without bond.
