The Post Franklin Neighborhood Clean-Up & Block Party is Saturday, September 6th from 1-4pm and it's FREE!

Post Consumer Brands will host the party at the corner of Marjorie and Cliff Streets and they'll have dumpsters, for trash, mattresses, and tires.  More than  a dozen community organizations will be there, including The Charitable Union, The Haven of Rest, KCC, Habitat for Humanity, Salvation Army, Alano Club, Red Cross, Endeavor Charter Academy, Battle Creek Police Department and many more.  They'll also have fun bounce houses, midway games, music, and of course food.

Habitat for Humanity Executive Director Robert Phillips says they'll be building a couple of wheelchair ramps for use in the neighborhood.   Charitable Union will collect old, torn clothing to shred for insulation.

It's also a great chance for Post Franklin Neighborhood residents to get rid of trash, like old mattresses or tires.  But, no yard wast, freon, electronics, or hazardous liquids.

Organizer Heather Pontius says volunteers with pickup trucks and trailers will drive through the neighborhood to pick up items for the dumpsters.

The Post Balloon Club will be selling boxes of cereal at $1.50 per box and if the weather is nice, they will be setting up the Post Hot Air Balloon.
