Self-Centered Athletes
Many athletes these days feel they need to throw themselves into the political arena concerning the National Anthem issue.
Now we have one of the biggest names in basketball if not sports today. The Cleveland Cavaliers star basketball player LeBron James has now waded into this controversy and it is a dosey.
First you must know that LeBron has been a basketball phenomenon since he was very young, he was drafted into the NBA right out of high school. I inform you of this to enlighten you to the fact that he has probably never had a real job in his life other than play basketball. Might he have had a job in the summers between his high school years, yes but I highly doubt it due to the fact he was probably in many basketball camps and leagues during those summers.
Now The Daily Caller news site is reporting the LeBron believes that his “calling is much bigger” than President Trump’s or as LeBron says that “guy”.
He was quoted in the article stating:
If you voted for him, you may have made a mistake. Can we sit up here and say I’m trying to make a difference? I want the best for the American people no matter the skin color, the race. We know this is the greatest country in the world. We still have problems, just like everybody else. The people run this country, not one individual, damn sure not him.
He then went on to say:
My calling is much bigger than this guy
The “guy” he was referring to is President Trump.
Hey LeBron you think you might be just a teeny weeny bit full of yourself?
I will agree with one thing LeBron said when talking about protesting the national anthem in the upcoming basketball season and that was:
My voice is more important than my knee. What I say, I think it should hit home for a lot of people. I don’t think I have to get on my knee to further my point
You are correct on that point “guy”.
