It was a chilly night in Detroit for baseball and the Tiger bats were cold for the game, ending in a 13-2 loss to the Kansas City Royals.

Matthew Boyd kept Kansas City scoreless until the 2nd inning when they scored two runs and led the game 2-0. Detroit finally got a mark on the board in the 4th when McCann grounded to third and Hicks crossed the plate, making it a 2-1 game.

The Tigers tied the game in the 5th with a homer by Kinsler, 2-2. The game remained tied until the 7th when the Royals scored four runs making it 6-2. But the nightmare was just beginning.

The 8th inning saw 7 more runs cross home plate for Kansas City, raising the score to 13-2.The 9th arrived, but ended with the Tigers unable to score anymore runs and 13-2 on the scoreboard.

Thursday is an off day for Detroit, giving them a day of rest before facing Toronto, Friday evening.
