For the second straight game the Detroit Tigers offense came out of the locker room hitting. This time, the bullpen let down the Motown Cats on the road, falling to the Boston Red Sox 5-3 in historic Fenway Park.

The Tigers took an early 2-0 lead in the first, thanks to Nicholas Castellanos' seventh homer of the season (his second homer in as many days). Mikey Mahtook struck his fourth homer on the year to give Detroit a 3-0 lead.

A strong outing from Jordan Zimmermann was washed away in the eighth inning, as the Red Sox scored three runs off of Alex Wilson. Wilson falls to 1-3 on the season.

The second game of the three-game weekend series takes place Saturday night, featuring the aces of both squads. Justin Verlander (4-4, 4.63 ERA) has the start for the Tigers, and the BoSox send out Chris Sale (7-2, 2.89 ERA). Join us for all the action at 6:50pm on 95.3 WBCK!
