A new member might be joining the Battle Creek Downtown Development Authority, and it would be a familiar face.

According to the Battle Creek City Commission’s agenda for their meeting July 11, a resolution will likely be approved that would appoint Battle Creek Public Schools Superintendent Kimberly Carter to the BCDDA. The BCDDA is made up of the City Manager and eight other members appointed by the City Manager.

The Downtown Development Authority’s goal, as the name implies, is to further growth of the downtown Battle Creek area.
