Man Killed in Brush Fire

Neighbors and Police tried to help, but investigators say a man was killed yesterday when some burning brush caught his tractor on fire.  It happened on South Minges in Battle Creek at around 3:40.  Police say the 93-year-old man got too close to the fire and it ignited the tractor, throwing off large amounts of smoke.  Neighbors rushed over with water but couldn’t help the man.
