Olivet Man Killed In Crash

A 44 year-old Olivet man was killed Thursday afternoon in a single-car crash in Sheridan Township.

According to a press release, at approximately 3:30 pm. the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office responded to the fatal accident that occurred on 29 Mile Road approximately 1/4 mile south of J Drive North, in Sheridan Township.

Deputies have determined that the man was operating a vehicle northbound on 29 Mile Road. The vehicle left the east side of the road and struck a tree. The driver was pronounced dead at Allegiance Hospital in Jackson.

It’s unknown if alcohol or drugs may have been a factor; however, the accident is still under investigation.

Deputies were assisted by Albion Community Ambulance and the Sheridan Township Fire Department.

The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office has not yet named the victim.
