Tigers 

The top two teams in the AL Central begin a three-game series tonight, as the Detroit Tigers visit the Royals in Kansas City.  The Tigers’ lead the Royals by a half-game. Justin Verlander will start for the Tigers.   We’ll join the game tonight after High School football on WBCK. Max Scherzer and James Shields face off tomorrow afternoon and Rick Porcello and Jeremy Guthrie finish the series on Sunday.

Red Wings

The Detroit Red Wings open training camp today in Traverse City. Detroit's first round pick from the 2013 draft, Anthony Mantha, will miss camp after he broke his leg earlier this week. The Wings play back-to-back preseason games against the Penguins in Pittsburgh on Monday and against the Blackhawks in Chicago on Tuesday.  The regular season begins October 9th.

Coyotes to All-Star Game

Eleven Battle Creek Coyotes will play in tomorrow’s first-ever CRFL All-Star game..  The game will be played this Saturday in Finlay, Ohio, prior to the Championship game between the Michigan Lightning and Ohio Crush.

Both games will stream live on the Michigan Sports Network (MISN) a local video production company from Battle Creek. Fans can watch the game and post on twitter to have their comments viewed during the live broadcasts. Watch live at www.misportsnetwork.com.

Playing for the Coyotes will be WR Devington Halliburton, LB Quenton Kizer, LB Mike Page, DB James Snider and DB Otis West.  Also earning starting nods on offense are WR Marcus Shafer, OL William Swearingen, OL Andrew Johnson, and RB Robbie Crockett.
