The Michigan State Police Marshall Post says that their officers were called to the intersection of Angola Rd. and Central Rd. in Branch County's Ovid Township around 5:06pm Thursday.
The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office says that deputies were searching the area of Michigan Ave. near Bedford Rd. in Bedford Township around 8:16pm Friday, for a suspect who was believed to have stolen electronics from a store in Marshall.
Authorities say that the ring was in charge of a scheme to distribute and sell meth in west Michigan, and nearly 17 pounds of meth and five firearms have been seized as a result.
While the OD victim was being treated with Narcan, the victim's 67-year-old father came out of the home brandishing a handgun. EMTs took cover, and deputies were eventually able to take the man into custody.
37-year-old Jerrell Finch was in Calhoun County Court on Monday to get his sentence, after he was found guilty earlier this year of second-degree murder and delivery of a controlled substance.
The incident began Saturday afternoon, where they were notified that Jackson County authorities were chasing a stolen vehicle on westbound I-94 around 2:30pm. Officers lost sight of the vehicle in the area of I-94 near the 121st mile marker in Marengo Township, but shortly afterwards a Calhoun County Marine Patrol Deputy spotted two individuals walking along Partello Rd. near 21 Mile.
