Woman Killed in Suspected Drunk-Driving Incident

A woman is dead, and a man is in critical condition, following a suspected drunk-driving incident Saturday night. Battle Creek police arrived at the scene near Riverside and Columbia, at around 11:30pm. A 22-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man had both been hit by an eastbound vehicle, while they were walking along the south side of Columbia. The female was transported to Bronson Battle Creek, where she was pronounced dead. The male victim was taken to Bronson Kalamazoo in critical condition. The 57-year-old woman driver was taken into custody after police say she tested positive for alcohol.
