23-Year-Old Admits To Hitting Sheriff’s Vehicle
The driver who crashed into a sheriff’s vehicle in Kalamazoo County, and then ran away, has now been located.
The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Deputy was travelling on West Main around 5am Thursday, when a 1998 Oldsmobile minivan ran a red light on Kendall Street and broadsided the cruiser. The cruiser skidded and flipped over, but the deputy was uninjured.
A few hours after the crash, a citizen called to say that their family member had been involved in the incident. The 23-year-old driver was uninjured as well, and did admit to being involved, but authorities have not taken them into custody at this time.
Investigators say that alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor.
