A new section of Battle Creek is being issued a boil water advisory, while crews work on the water system.

While the water pressure is lowered in the area, the potential for bacteria to enter occurs.

In a release, the City of Battle Creek says that before using water for cooking, washing dishes, and brushing teeth, water should be brought to a boil for at least one minute to ensure safety.

The affected areas include:

Moorland Dr. between Edgehill and Eastway Dr. S.

Eastway Dr. N. between Moorland Dr. and Lincoln Blvd.

Eastway Dr. S. between Moorland Dr. and Eastway Dr. N.

The advisory will be in effect for at least 24 hours.
