Spraying in Zone 4-1 in Calhoun County wan't completed on Tuesday and won't be on Wednesday either.   Aerial treatment could happen Thursday night, weather permitting.  Zone 4-1 is an area west of M-66 and north of I-94.  In addition, a small portion of Southeast Calhoun County (Zone 4-2) was also scheduled as a weather alternative for tonight, October 2, 2019. Zone 4-2 is east of Homer, and South of Albion.  At this point, residents in Zones 4-3 and 4-4 should be prepared for treatment on or after Friday, October 4, 2019.

All residents in the identified Calhoun County Aerial Treatment Zones  will receive aerial treatment with the exception of those who opted out within 48-hours of scheduled treatment date.

The dates provided above are dependent upon weather and other factors. Be assured that once the Calhoun County Public Health Department (CCPHD) receives confirmation of the scheduled treatment for that night, the public will be notified immediately. The CCPHD will also notify the public once confirmation of completed treatment zones has been received.

Brigette Reichenbaugh, Calhoun County Deputy Health Officer and Public Information Officer also confirmed that a Battle Creek resident has died from EEE complications. This makes the fourth human fatality from EEE in Michigan in 2019.
