Giant American Flag, Mackinac Bridge; Will Democrats Protest?
While Liberals/Democrats protest the Betsy Ross American flag, will they now protest a giant American flag hanging from the Mackinac Bridge?
We will see, my gut is telling me they will.
According to an article published in MLive, the device necessary to display this giant American flag was developed by MBA Maintenance Supervisor Ned McLennan. His creative 36-foot long device will store the flag like a roll-up window curtain at the top of the bridge towers. This device is needed to protect the flag from the wind and weather and will be raised and lowered using a remote control.
Previous to the development of the remote control reel, hanging the giant flag actually required stopping traffic on the bridge and taking approximately a dozen of their employees to roll-up and unroll the flag.
This giant flag was purchased in 2016 and first flown from the bridge's south tower on Memorial Day 2017. The giant flag is 30-foot-by-60-foot and the authority displays the flag on six holidays each year: Memorial Day, Flag Day, the Fourth of July, Labor Day, Patriots Day, and Veterans Day.
The question still remains, how many Liberals/Democrats will boycott crossing the Mackinac Bridge and enjoying the Upper Peninsula.
