A New Era Begins At Harper Creek

Our High School Football kickoff week continues tonight with a trip to Harper Creek for a non-conference battle between the Beavers and the Caledonia Fighting Scots. The two teams squared off for the first time in school history last season in Caledona, where the Scots knocked the Beavers around in a 48-7 drubbing.

A lot has changed at Harper Creek for this season, as longtime assistant Mike Seedorff takes over the head coaching reigns for athletic director Ed Greenman. Greenman concludes a long 30-year coaching career at Harper and finished with a 5-4 regular season and making it to the postseason for the 10th time in 11 years. They were eliminated in the district finals by Eaton Rapids.

The Scots will hope to find some offense tonight, after losing 85 percent of their scoring offense from last season to graduation. On defense, they will try to fill the holes in their linebacker corps, while they will rely on the line to hold them up.
