Kalamazoo Police Issue Warning After Two Drunk Driving Crashes Sunday
According to a release, the first crash happened just before 8am, in the area of Duke and Denway. At the scene, Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety Officers found a pickup truck that was stuck in a shed after crashing into it.
When police arrived, the driver was still trying to get their truck loose, and was uninjured. The driver was arrested on a charge of Operating While Intoxicated.
The second crash happened around 8:30am, at the Dover Hills apartment complex.
Initial investigation shows that a vehicle attempted to take a corner at high speed and failed, crashing into the entrance sign of the apartment complex. The impact sent a heavy decorative boulder into the street, and caused the vehicle to flip.
The driver suffered minor injuries, and after being treated they were arrested on an OWI charge.
