Man Arrested After Gun Found Hidden in Yard

Police in Battle Creek say they caught two men this morning while investigating suspicious activity in the area of Manchester and Wood Street.  Officers say a search of the men shortly after midnight turned up gloves and masks as well as a BB pistol.  A search warrant was issued and officers then searched one of the suspect’s homes near Washington Avenue and Walter where they say they found a rifle hidden in the backyard.  Police say the suspect, a 19-year-old illegal immigrant, was taken to the County Jail pending charges.
