If you make minimum wage in the state of Michigan, good news, your pay is going up on March 29th.

WWMT reports that at the end of the month, minimum wage will go from $9.25 to $9.45 an hour. Overtime wages will remain the same of time and a half for people working over 40 hours in a 7 day period.

The WWMT story also mentions a weird part about the state of Michigan that I didn’t know and don’t agree with; which is employers can pay minors aged 16 or 17 years old, 85% of the actual minimum wage.  You know because teens don’t do the same amount of work, (eye roll) but as of the 29th the minors’ “ripped off” wage goes from $7.86 to $8.03 an hour.  This one really annoys me obviously.

Also according to WWMT, If you work in the service industry and get paid partly in tips, you will also be getting paid more but still only 38% of the actual minimum wage, so your wages goes from $3.52 to $3.59.
