Mother Charged In Homicide

A Kalamazoo woman will stand trial on the torture and death of her four-year-old daughter.

According to MLive.Com, Daveeta Walker appeared in Kalamazoo County District Court, before Judge Vincent Westra on Wednesday. She received four charges, including two counts of felony murder, first degree child abuse and torture.

Walker is accused of torturing her child, Kharisma, on her fourth birthday in March. The child suffered burns to her feet and evidence of being struck with a belt.
