Both the San Francisco 49ers and San Diego Chargers triumphed in inclement weather conditions on Sunday to advance to the next round of the NFL playoffs. Here's a recap of the day's games:

San Francisco 23, Green Bay 20

Phil Dawson kicked a game-winning 33-yard field goal as time expired, and the San Francisco 49ers beat the Packers, 23-20, in the wild card round of the NFC playoffs in frigid Green Bay, Wisc. on Sunday. San Francisco overcame sub-zero wind chills to advance to play at Carolina in the divisional round next Sunday.

After Green Bay tied the game at 20 on a 24-yard field goal by Mason Crosby with 5:06 to play, the 49ers drove to the Packers' 15-yard-line, setting up Dawson's kick. San Francisco quarterback Colin Kaepernick had a key 11-yard scramble for a first down that helped extend the drive.

Kaepernick threw for 227 yards, a touchdown and an interception. He also carried seven times for 98 yards. 49ers' wide receiver Michael Crabtree caught eight passes for 125 yards.

Aaron Rodgers passed for 177 yards and a touchdown for Green Bay. He was sacked four times and pressured often by the Niners' pass rush. Packers' running back Eddie Lacy carried 21 times for 81 yards.

San Diego 27, Cincinnati 10

The San Diego defense forced four turnovers, and the Chargers upset the Bengals, 27-10, in the wild card round of the AFC playoffs in Cincinnati on Sunday. San Diego advanced to face Denver in next week's divisional round.

Trailing 10-7 at halftime, the Chargers outscored the Bengals 20-0 in the second half and coasted to the win. San Diego sacked Cincinnati quarterback Andy Dalton three times and forced him into two interceptions and a fumble.

Chargers' running back Ronnie Brown carried eight times for 77 yards, including a game-clinching 58-yard touchdown run with 2:17 to play. Philip Rivers completed 12 of 16 passes for 128 yards and a score for San Diego.

Dalton finished 29-of-51 for 334 passing yards, a touchdown and two interceptions. Bengals' wide receiver Marvin Jones caught eight passes for 130 yards.
