As many of you have heard, over and over again, President Trump agreed with the recommendation from Attorney General Sessions and Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein that FBI Director James Comey be fired.  In a letter to Director Comey President Trump stated:

Dear Director Comey:

I have received the attached letters from the Attorney General and Deputy Attorney General of the United States recommending your dismissal as the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. I have accepted their recommendation and you are hereby terminated and removed from office, effective immediately.

While I greatly appreciate you informing me, on three separate occasions, that I am not under investigation, I nevertheless concur with the judgment of the Department of Justice that you are not able to effectively lead the Bureau.

It is essential that we find new leadership for the FBI that restores public trust and confidence in its vital law enforcement mission.

I wish you the best of luck in your endeavors.

Donald J. Trump.

The letter he refers to came from Attorney General Sessions and Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein.  Those letters referred to Director Comey being:

“wrong to usurp the Attorney General’s authority on July 5 2016, and announce his conclusion that the case should be closed without prosecution.  It is not the function of the Director to make such an announcement.  At most, the Director should have said the FBI completed its investigation and presented its findings to federal prosecutors.”

Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein went on to say in his letter to AG Sessions:

“I cannot defend the director’s handling of the conclusion of the investigation of Secretary Clinton’s emails, and I do not understand his refusal to accept the nearly universal judgment that he was mistaken.  Almost everyone agrees that the director [made] serious mistakes; it is one of the few issues that unites people of diverse perspectives.”

The questions that are being asked by almost all Democrats and some Republicans is why now?  The questions all surround the timing, but let me ask you what would have been the right time to fire Director Comey?  Do you not believe that at any time that President Trump fired Director Comey these same questions would have come up?

Some say he should have waited until the so called “Russian and Trump Campaign ties” investigation was completed.  Would the Democrats and the Main Stream Media have been satisfied at that point, I do not.

If they would have found no ties, like they have been saying for almost a year now, the Democrats would have said that the Director was incompetent and should not have been leading this investigation.

If they would have found some ties and President Trump fired him for what he did as referenced in the letters from the Attorney General and Deputy Attorney General then the Democrats would have said it was payback.

Three former Assistant FBI Directors, James Kallstrom, Bill Gavin and Ron Hosko all agreed that FBI Director Comey should have been fired for his actions last year.

James Kallstrom stated:

“…Way back almost a year ago [Comey] kinda forgot he was the FBI director,”

Bill Gavin, said:

“Jim Comey is a bright guy, he’s an ethical guy, but the bottom line is, when he made a prosecutive [sic] opinion in an investigative matter he made a mistake,”

And Ron Hosko said:

“Certainly there are going to be some FBI who think he went too far back in July…I think, that is, reasonable minds can agree, the province of the prosecutor.”

This is politics and unfortunately the way it is played does not bare any resemblance to reality, fairness and the law.

The Democrats have been screaming for the firing of Director Comey since last summer.  Starting with Hillary Clinton herself, Democrats have blamed James Comey for her loss to President Donald Trump. And yet when Trump fired the FBI director, those same Democrats rushed to defend him.

New York Democratic Senator Chuck Schumer for quite a while has claimed a lack of confidence in former FBI director.  Is the same FBI Director that you lacked confidence in Senator Schumer the same one you wanted to lead the investigation into Russia’s hacking of the DNC email server or any alleged ties to the Trump Campaign?  Your confidence in him would have only been renewed if he claimed there was hacking of the DNC email servers by the Russians and there was some ties to the Trump Campaign.  Is that not fair to say?

I think this is the time we all sit back and take a breath and see what happens in the near future.  I want this alleged Russian hacking and ties to the Trump campaign to be settled one way or another.  If not the Democrats will have been successful in hanging this over the head of the President for his entire term or two terms.  This is the Democratic Party attempt to have their own birth certificate scandal on this new “Republican” president.

The Russian investigation will still proceed, no need for a Special Prosecutor yet.  In fact all of the Democrats who are asking for a Special Prosecutor I would ask them did they call for one in the IRS scandal or the Benghazi scandal.  The obvious answer is no, so please spare me your sanctimonious whining and move on to the business of “We the people”.
