Suspect Charged in Battle Creek Murder

A man was arraigned yesterday afternoon on a murder charge following the shooting death of a Battle Creek man Sunday morning.

Police responded to the shooting at a home on Parkway Drive at around 3:30am.

The victim, Xavier Embry, was found in his crashed car on nearby Wood Street. He was taken to Bronson-Battle Creek where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators tracked a suspect from the scene of the shooting and arrested 30-year-old Christopher Taylor. Taylor was ordered held at the Calhoun County Jail without bond.  He’s due back in court on the 20^th.
